Artist Spotlight:
The Raconteurs
The Raconteurs are a band formed out of 3 larger bands: The White Stripes, The Greenhorns and Brendan Benson’s solo project. The members are as follows:
Jack White:

Jack plays lead guitar in this band and does backing vocals. He is more famous for his work with the White Stripes, a band that has been popular for roughly 10 years or so. He was also featured in a documentary along side legends like Jimmy Page and The Edge from U2
Brendan Benson:
Brendan plays rhythm guitar on most tracks, and sings lead vocals on them as well. Before joining the Raconteurs, Benson was more known for his solo projects.
Jack Lawrence:
Jack plays bass guitar in this band, and sometimes does backing vocals for tracks. Lawrence is also the bass player from the band The Greenhorns.
Patrick Keeler:
Patrick plays drums in the band to round out the all star line up. Keeler is also a member of The Greenhorns, and plays drums in that band as well.
They play an almost folk-acoustic/alternative style of music that appeals to fans of all three of their respective bands.
The band formed one day when White and Benson wrote their first single “Steady As She Goes”, and it was said that the chemistry just fell into place. After adding Keeler on the drums and Lawrence on bass, the band was quickly deemed a “Super Group”. Essentially a super group is one that consists of members from many successful bands that come together to collaborate in one joint effort. Bands such as : Them Crooked Vultures, Chickenfoot and Velvet Revolver.
Their first record “Broken Boy Soldiers” was produced in Detroit in 2005 and quickly flew up the music charts in the US.
Since the release of their first album they toured all over the world in places such as:
Their second album “ Consolers of the Lonely” debuted in 2008 and their hit song “Salute Your Solution” experienced the same amount of success as “Steady As She Goes”. They toured for the remainder of 2008.
Currently the future of the band is unknown. The members have all said they are focused on other projects and that they don’t know what lies ahead for The Raconteurs.
