Rocking today just as much as they were back in 1981!
Metallica has retained almost all of the original band members such as, Lars Ulrich, James Hetfield and Kirk Hammett. Their current bassist is Robert Trujillo. Kicking ass and shredding metal is what these big four are all about. Their many albums have has attributed much to their success such as seven Grammy awards and they are still the only band to debut 5 consecutive albums at number one on the Billboard 200.The only thing better than rocking out to Metallica tuns is when your rocking out to Metallica tunes with the San Fransico Symphony Orchestra backing them up which happened in 1999. This is my personal favourite album which combines my love for metal and my love for orchestral music. Odd to hear metal and orchestral music in the same sentence but listen to the album S&M and you will be a believer.
Leaving their mark on pop culture Metallica was immortalized on The Simpsons when the group appeared on the show's eighteenth season premiere. The band changed their style for Saint Anger which was both loved and despised by their fans. Some felt betrayed by the change in style while the band themselves felt change was good. Of course to this fans delight Death Magnetic (2008) was a throw back to the tried and true was of Metallica. With their European tour done since July 30th, Metallica fans all over North America waiting for that tour announcement.
