Trans-Siberian Orchestra: Tour and a New Album.
The Trans-Siberian Orchestra is a rock opera type of musical production and they have released four albums over their 14 year career, three of which are Christmas albums. They have become one of the world's most successful touring acts playing to over 5 million people in 80 cities by 2008. TSO's founder, producer and writer Paul O'Neil envisioned the TSO as a progressive rock band that would break boundaries following the influences of Pink Floyd and The Who but taking the music farther. New Album: Night Castle
Night Castle was released October 27th and songs from the CD will be incorporated into their Christmas tour. TSO has been working on the album a year after their last release in 2005 called 'The Lost Christmas'.This is their second non Christmas rock opera since their Beethoven's Last Night Album released in 2000. It's the story of U.S Army special forces officer and his experiences in combat in Cambodia during the 1970s. O'Neill, who produced the album with Robert Kinkel, describes the album as 'anti-evil'. Night Castle covers 21 of the 26 tracks on the two discs. There are five bonus tracks which include tracks such as 'Nutrocker' and a cover of Carol Orff's 1930s composition 'Carmina Burana,' which are two works that had a great influence on the band.
