What's on in the City

Toronto’s 43rd annual Cavalcade of Lights returns to
Nathan Phillips Square from
November 28 – December 31, 2009.
It's that time of year once again, to get into that holiday spirit.
Every year our wonderful city of Toronto holds an annual Cavalcade of Lights. The event is all about getting the city to come together and celebrate the holidays with each of your fellow neighbours. The event first started in 1967 to showcase Toronto's newly constructed City Hall and Nathan Phillips Square. Now, it is a city event that is meant to bring the people of Toronto together. The offical kick off of the event was on Saturday, November 28th but not to worry, this event goes on every Saturday throughout December. The events commence every Saturday night at 7 o'clock.
This Saturday, December 12th, State of Shock will be performing with a skating party by Promise DJs spinning the hottest dance music hits in the city. On December 19th, the amazing Faber Drive will be performing with yet another great skating party, with Alternative music skating party by DJ Misty Rock n' Roll. Make sure to check on the City of Toronto's Christmas tree that is beautifully lit up with 300,000 festive lights. The Cavalcade of Lights festival doesn't only occur only at Nathan Phillips but it is city-wide so check out the tourist attractions and neighbourhoods in the area to see the city lit up with lights to get you into that holiday spirits.
